Difficulty thread that is not in shoutbox

I think the plan will be to put Vanilla to hard once the main reset happens and we may also be able to change the zombie conversion rate to 100% without modifying difficulty on main.
Well, poo. That just pushed my decision from "do I want to lose my build due to Main resetting, or keep my build and play without conveniences" to "do I want to lose my build due to Main resetting, or play a game mode without conveniences that will add another layer of frustration on top, but keep my build".

I know we have a lot of players and it's impossible to please everyone, and I absolutely support whatever decision the admins make on this question. I just hate having to make this kind of decision because it feels like a lose/lose for me. The impending reset has already largely made me stop playing.

I know how you feel, after my first season (actually season 2) i felt a little displaced because i really didnt finish anything. By the time season 3 came along i was eager to try out new ideas i had been working on; again with very little finished. Just last week i finalized on what my new style would be this time around WITH a new motto. KEEP IT SMALL. Because my inner squirrel gets distracted sooo easily. Hehe. As far as vanilla is concerned... i can't play that way. Tried it. Died three times before i made it past the first ridge

The other side (hard mode please) argues that with an element of risk, the game become not only a sandbox build game but something of an adventure. It also promotes using some items, food and concepts like sleeping and armor management that we’ve sort of taken for granted on Normal mode. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely vote NO for creeper explosions and fire spread off, with Hard Mode on. Either way, I’m all in.

Hard mode on main won't be a thing
