Lesson learned...

I learned today (the hard way) that Ravagers can go up waterfalls. While being chased by one, I thought to go up a water column to escape, but he followed me up. Fortunately, I went to the ledge on one side and he went to the other, I was finally able to kill him and his rider with my bow.

They can also swim up lava too, now not for extended periods or their toes melt but it seems to be a bug in 1.14.3

They can get you through walls too. I don't know if that is intentional.

Other lessons learned are (at least for 1.14.3):

1. Pillagers are so dumb that if they fall in a hole that only has an exit on the side away from the village, they never path find a way out.
2. Ravagers get stuck spinning around on the side of hills.

Therefore you need to flatten and fill all around the village, or you have to go out every now and then to find and kill the rest of the raid.
