Aquatic Plans (and then what really happens)

Ignoring the lens-type distortion (a bit tricky in MC!), I've always fancied building houses 'on top of each other' like in this picture by M C Escher. Seems it would lens itself well to Minecraft.... I did build a small 'villa' along similar lines years ago, with walls of clay, floors of tile or wood and trees in an enclosed courtyard.

For the cave gen it just looks like they copy pasted the nether world generation, but with overworld biomes. Also, wow, I did not realize there was this much of an overhaul on underwater shenanigans. Too bad trees don't grow underwater...

There's a huge amount of "under the hood" structural changes too, a lot of code has changed. Likely that such things as texture packs, optifine and mini-maps will take time to catch up too, I haven't checked their progress recently.

The snapshots are poor, even by Minecraft standards, either the new additions are reducing FPS or they just haven't finished optimising. Time will tell.

Mild spoiler if you play Subnautica, but perhaps something like this? linktosubnauticawiki

Maybe make a coral person texture? :3 Those cubfan135 snapshot videos were great. Got me real hyped for the next patch. I went and watched all of them which was at least 2 hours. Mojang overhauling water physics is intimidating.

Oy mate, what if I imitated this from Subnautica. anotherlinktosubnauticawiki

Before I made trees I actually made flying islands. That was back in the 1.3 days of Minecraft. I sadly don't have any pictures from back then, but making giant floating islands was a lot of fun. I'm not really into building buildings. :<
