Can't get bubble column

Re the AFK fishers:-

It appears that while they still work, and you can still do the Fullscreen trick to keep the mouse button trapped, you can't take focus away from the screen afterwards. This makes them pretty useless for y/t, but others should still be aware of this.

o_O:confused: In reply to @steveabraham - You haven't watched me trying have you! S'funny but I can use very complex tech kit and have taught the use of it too - but making something redstone or with multiple trip-wires, pistons and the like is a different matter!

It is just a simple one, not at all elaborate. Furnace, 3 hoppers, 3 chest (minimum), and a lever. See the attached. The switch turns off the output hopper when you are smelting something that gives XP (iron, gold, food, etc.), and and you can turn it on when doing bulk items such as cobblestone to stone. It can be easily set up as a duel furnace.SimpleAutoSmelter.png

Water is odd but possibly better now.

Spent most of this afternoon working out how to make a small semi-automatic kelp farm to provide yummy snacks and maybe dye. I looked at a couple of videos on Youtube but couldn't get the water to work in the same way so I came up with my own version which can be scaled in any direction as required. There's no auto bone-mealing or anything fancy, just bung coal in the hoppers occasionally, wait for the stuff to grow while you're doing other stuff then pull the lever - the kelp gets harvested, cooked and deposited in the chests ready to eat and re-grows without re-planting :D I'm going to build one when the server is up.

Just figured out the basics for a simple sea pickle farm as well... just need to connect the dispenser and pistons to a clock and away it goes. Not terribly efficient but good enough for a starter pickle-factory for lighting up your dark crevices (ewww).

Decided it's probably not worth going to the effort to wire this up properly... a much simpler 4 coral block arrangement with 2 pistons and a dispenser operated manually gives about 6 pickles per 10 bone meal. The problem with any of these is you need silk touch to get the coral or be able find it in a convenient location!

Ez, and everyone! Placing kelp at the button of a water column and all the way up to the top (so like a 50 block high kelp) turns all water into source blocks.

do sea pickles need to be on coral? I thought they could grow on anything as long as it was in water.
You can place them on anything but they'll only grow on coral (you can't bonemeal 'em on sand for example).

EDIT: Quote... Bone meal can be used on sea pickles if they are underwater, and planted on living coral blocks. This will increase their number on that block, and spread to empty areas underwater above other living coral blocks. They can spread to the original sea pickle's level or one level below, out to a horizontal taxicab distance of 2. Bone meal can be used on sea pickles planted on other blocks, or outside of water, but nothing will happen and the bone meal will still be consumed.
