My bad typing - Chanterelle is correct, in Russian лисичка. I had to look up the Lactarius as I only knew the common name Saffron Milk Cap - delicious! I tend to keep away from any fungi that go "jelly-like" when cooked , I dont like the texture.

Very few people gather fungi in the UK ( ... fear!), so when I'm in Uk there are always many around. In Russia, as in Poland, it's like a national sport and everything else stops!

Definitely you can notice increased activity during mushroom-picking season in Poland.

My bad typing, I'm afraid. Лисичка, how nice, seems it's lisówka here. I couldn't find common English name for Boletus. Is there any?. The Polish is Borowik (pronounce w as v and hard r).

Yes some surprising similarities with some words ! Boletes seems to be the common name for the group in English, some specific types have common names but not all. Boletus edulis is known as Cep, Porcini ( Italian origin I think), Penny Bun and some other names. Cep is the Russian description too I think. At that point my knowledge runs out!
