Anyone wants to go for a run of "Post a song, rate the one above"?

Awwww yiiiiissss Queen! Brian May has to be one of my favorite guitar players, the unsung hero behind the colossus that was Freddie Mercury! Dat huuuuuuge solo tho! I'mma give this one an 8.


WARNING! This song is heavy, has screams, blastbeats, breakdowns, but it also has AMAZING musicianship and that clean-vocal chorus hook is amazing. And Natsumi Suzuki is absolutely gorgeous in this video. Enjoi!

"One"'s a friggin' classic, but - and I'll probably get all your hate for what I'm about to write, my favorite Metallica album is St. Anger.

That Gideon song CleatusEarl posted made me think of one of my friends' band.


I love this new wave of Metalcore so bad... Dem breakdowns, the crazy instrumentals, and the general vibe from it... Crazy stuff!

I'm diggin' that. I show people this style of music and all they say is, "i dont know what they are saying" , "this is the devils music". I just laugh. I'm a drummer and I am mainly listening to the band and not the singer. the breakdowns, the melodies just get me going and my fingers twitching to the beat. I get hyped listening to "Engine 45" by Ghost Inside. almost all of my metal bands I listen to are Christian : Sleeping Giant, War of Ages, Gideon, Mychildren Mybride, Texas in July, Rival Choir. but I am a musician and in that, I am diverse.

I grew up listening to Eric Clapton, Tower of Power, Earth Wind & Fire, the Commodores, Steely Dan, Garth Brooks, George Strait. I remember in '95 watching Sin Bad's Summer Jam of '94 and watching ConFunkshun and that led my to wanting to play drums.

But now i listen to more bands and EDM than I do of whats on the radio.

I'm going to throw a curve ball (being the old fart that I am). I do listen to newer stuff than 40 years old - really :) - but I ever since seeing Nazareth in the '70s I've been a fan. Always thought Dan McCafferty had great voice for classic rock.

Nazareth; yea nice and easy, yet fruity. Here's Free with Mr. Big from 1970, rock solid mind & feet stomping rhythm, unbeatable musicianship, roasting vocals, stunning teenage Bassist. On my play list every day since I saw them in the early 70's, RIP Paul Kossof and others.

I never listened to Dream Theater, however Mike Portnoy is a beast on drums, even leaving to fill in for The Rev (RIP) in Avenged Sevenfold. I saw dream Theater play a medley of their songs on the Modern Drummer 2003 DVD.

Nice! Compared to modern "music" most of what was made pre2k sounds amazing. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur. XD
Although I sometimes find very pleasant gems in these mines full of dubstep.
 
Not really my kind of genre, but that's not a bad wee tune – there's something a bit computer gamey about it.

How about a bit of a mix of old and new... (turn the volume way up!)

Wow, I really like this one. For me it's hard to find something I would enjoy. So it's like 3-4 songs each year. Pretty sad. I guess, nothing from my playlist would surprise you. =)
