Opened up a customer's 2010 model 27" iMac today to replace a failed hard drive. Was looking around trying to find the temperature sensor to remove it and spotted this:

The drive was replaced 2 years ago by the local Apple *authorised* repair centre. And they somehow thought a) that was an acceptable fix for the sensor and b) leaving bare wires where they can come in contact with the logic board is a good idea.
It's not often these machines surprise me, but that's a new one on me.
